#BLOCKED Jamie Vardy & his football lookalike @Lee_chappy Story Surfaces! BBC uncovers the truth..

the man who shot the Foxes to the most
unlikely of sporting triumphs turned out to have a lookalike
and the day after the Premier League title was confirmed Lee Chapman’s life
changed when he got pulled onto the team coach ‘they were all laughing like
cheering jeering you know like heeeey banter aah
just …(background “hey its jamie vardy oh no no its not) just mad” “Lee Chapman a postman” The Next Day he was on a tour of TV studios “so there’s
the front page of the Sun right where are we over here there is even a Leicester
Fan all you’re life does life getting better than this”
we’ve got the photographer’s you’re with you and everything today we’re
having a party here oh Jamie Vardys Having A Party” but within weeks the party was over for
Lee and he holds one man responsible for that
I am Lees agent here. it was a ride but at the same time looking back it was only a ride
because he was driving it the way he wanted to drive it . this is the story of
how a Jamie Vardy look-alike and a David Beckham doppelganger got conned and it
was all spotted thanks to a young George best, lee has his own trophy cabinet full
of mementos from a crazy summer I think all leicester fans have got one after last
year so I just created mine really hopefully a bit unique, and when you look
at it does it spring back happy memories? some some not so good inside out first caught up with Lee at
last year’s ladies day at leicester racecourse , behind it all pulling the
strings was his agent. “yes its James Austin and it’s A.U.S.T.I.N . we got a lookalikes
agency we’ve got over a 1000 lookalikes on our books and we got a TV
show aswell” but all wasn’t as it seemed that agency and TV show are real but
they’re owned by another famous look-alike. first into the den is Andy
Harmer from Eastbourne, Andy harmer has spent years earning a living from his
resemblance to David Beckham here he is on Dragon’s Den trying to get investment
in his lookalikes business Andy harmer says Austin just looked after
the social media for his look-alikes brand he was never a co-owner . we’ve seen
numerous emails sent by Austin where he claims to be a director and owner of the
look-alikes agency and its associated TV show.
unfortunately for Lee Chapman the misrepresentation didn’t stop there for every booking Lee should have
received 80% of the fee pretty standard for this kind of work the agency gets
20% but Andy Harmar says he agreed Austin could receive half that for any booking
secured through Twitter well here’s an invoice for the
look-alikes agency correctly submitted by Austinn but we’ve seen several emails
where he began by passing this system to get money paid into an account that he
had control of, for example take that job at leicester racecourse lees fee was £700
pounds email show Austin build the course four hundred and twenty pounds up front
to be paid into the account he controlled with the rest payable in cash
on the day Lee says he only received a total of around one hundred pounds and
this happened time and time again but for Lee the real problem was what
happened in the world of Twitter “I don’t really give two monkeys about
the money it is a fact that whenever he associated me with Jamie Vardy everyone always
ask the same question He Blocked You Didnt He?” there’s a lot of people lots on my
Twitter for various reasons which i dont need to go into.
thank you very much. Jamie Vardy and his wife had become fed up of the way their
names were being linked to leave Twitter and Instagram accounts to promote the
look-alike Lee says that wasn’t him it was his agent he given him the password
and to make matters worse when the body’s blocked the accounts Austin sold
it as a story. “I’ve seen the invoice he sold that story himself behind my back
and got the money for it he created it” what I can say is that we don’t know
what we’ve done Lee doesn’t know what he’s done yeah Its Sad. Austinn pocketed £750 pounds for the story
in spite of the damage it did to his own clients reputation Lee only realized he’d been duped
thanks to another footballing look-alike Mark o hare has sometimes works as a young
George best. Lee had asked me about payment for doing you know look like
Gigs he had said he hadn’t received any payment or he had received very little
so that bothered me obviously seeing the PR and the press that Lee had Lee had
got since early May”, mark worked for Andy Hamers look-alikes agency and knew the
truth Austin told me that he he was a co-owner of lookalikes he must have known
that Andy harmer is a friend of mine outside the lookalike business Lee’s a
nice guy and you know for him to be doing all this work and not getting paid
for it under be totally duped the way he has been, you know it’s a total con lees had to work extra shifts to make
up lost earnings from his time as a look alike.” so it’s a bit of a wacky
world being a look-alike people expects you to be good at
football or you know live a bit of a high lifestyle, have a lot of money but im
just me the irony of a lookalike is is like fraud isnt it really hes a fraud, hes not who he looks like hes someone else a fraud got frauded (laughs) yeah its yeah not cool” Austin was actually more of a fraud than
Lee could possibly have imagined take a look online for Jamie Austin and
his hometown of Weymouth in Dorset and his criminal past becomes clear in 2008
he admitted using his own grandparents identities to commit a fraud
totaling tens of thousands of pounds to pay off gambling debts then in 2011 he
was arrested for passing fake notes at Royal Ascot when he was convicted in
2012 and a number of different offenses he committed were brought together
Austin was jailed for two years Lee and his family
are still feeling the fallout from the whole look-alike experience he’s had
abuse on social media ” someone needs to stab that vardy
look-alike ! so you need to stab me because I look like someone?” when he
split from Austin he threatened to publish photos of Lee
with fake drugs I went to the police regarding this and I did a professional
drug test and I’m completely clear and the repeated use of one word online has
had a direct impact .”he struggled to take James to the park in case there was any
bad comments of him being a pedophile” “I seen the hatred that he’s got you
know at the charity shield” “all the negative side of that was created is
the the last things going to be accepted in all this and I don’t want
that” this fraud of an agent that has built this guy up but he’s also the guy
that’s brought him down”
